From the Centennial History of the Borough of Connellsville, Pennsylvania, 1806-1906:
Christian Snyder and David Welsh erected a brewery about 1870 on Mountain alley at the northeast corner of Apple street. It was a three story building, the first story being built of hammer-dressed stone and the second and third stories frame. The first story is still standing, having been incorporated into the tenement house which occupied the site of the old brewery until purchased and converted into the distilling house of the Connellsville Distilling Company.
