The article by another Pershing descendant, **Edgar J. Pershing, in the National Genealogical Society Quarterly, Vol. XVI, Sept., 1928, No. 3, told the story of Lochry's Expedition in the Lost Battalion of the Revolutionary War, PA. **Edgar J. Pershing also wrote The Pershing Family In America... .
John Pershing perished in the ambush of Lochry and his soldiers; he left no descendants.
