"The eastern Indians were hardly at rest from Philip's War when roused by the French to engage in this. An attack was made upon Haverhill, Mass. and Hannah Dustin, with a child only a few days old, another woman, and a boy, was led captive to an Indian camp up the Merrimac."

Stephen Holland, Loyalist Spy

"It is certain that many of the Londonderry [New Hampshire] Loyalists whose names are mentioned herein as signers of the petition in favor of Col. Stephen Holland came to Canada in 1784."


The Londonderry News, published 4 July 2014, A Local Stand Against the King, the Londonderry Riot, related that Stephen Holland was a spy.

"It is now known with certainty that our local judge and taverner Stephen Holland was a British spy and was in communication with General Howe."

J.W. S. McNeil, of the 2nd Regiment of Dragoons.  He was killed in the 21st year of his age in battle with the Indians of Florida on the morning of the 16th of September, 1837, by Uchee Billy, a chief of the Seminoles.  He was the son of Gen. John McNeil, of New Hampshire--late of the U.S. Army, and grandson of the late Governor Pierce of the same state.

You are looking at the southwest corner of the St. Augustine National Cemetery.  The marble slab on the ground in the corner is plot 1 and contains the remains of Lieut. Stephen Tuttle.  The nearer slab is plot 4 and contains the remains of John Winfield Scott McNeil.
