Raymond J. McConnell, 74, of 4566 N. Mission Rd., Rosebush, died Wednesday at Central Michigan Community Hospital.  He as born July 7, 1896 in Ohio.  Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Henry's Church in Rosebush, with Fr. Max Frego officiating.  Scriptural services will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the J.J. Rush Funeral Home.  Burial will be in St. Henry's Cemetery.  He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; one daughter, Mrs. Al (Marie) Cameron of Houston, Tex.; three sons, Joseph of Jackson, Timothy of Atlanta and Al of Ashland, Wis.; one sister, Mrs. Larry (Mary Louise) Heath of Flushing; three brothers, Maurice of Miami, Fl, Bernard of Rosebush and Leo of Detroit and 18 grandchildren.

Gertrude (Young) McConnell and my grandkids have mutual Murphy ancestors.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary M. Young, 75, who died at her home in Isabella township, Wednesday, December 7, were held at the Sacred Heart church Saturday, December 10, with the Rev. Father Cyril Carroll, her nephew, in charge of the services.  She had been an invalid for many years.

The deceased was born in Simcoe, Ontario, May 11, 1863, and came to Isabella county 50 years ago.  She had resided on the same farm in Isabella township where she settled half a century ago.

Surviving are two sons, Jerome of Mt. Pleasant, and Frank, of Detroit; one daughter, Mrs. Ray McConnell of Rosebush; three brothers, Tim, of St. Thomas, Ontario, and Dan and Jim of Detroit; and one sister, Mrs. Agnes Coughlin, also of Detroit.

Daniel Richardson Obituary

Daniel Richardson was living in Isabella County, Michigan, when he died in 1891.



Daniel Richardson married Cynthia Backus, who was the sister of my ancestor, Laura (Backus) Richmond.

The descendants of Daniel Louis Richardson (1836 - 1905), son of Daniel & Cynthia (Backus) Richardson can be found here.  He and his wife, Melissa (Priestly) Richardson were still living in Isabella County (Union Twp.), Michigan, in 1900.

Mrs. Cynthia Richardson died Monday March 17 of la grippe and was buried Wednesday from the house, Rev. D. B. Davidson officiating.  She was 76 years of age, a resident of this state twenty-two years and a resident of Isabella county seven years.

She was in Livingstson County, New York, in 1850, with her presumed father, John Backus (Daniel was living in a different household in 1850).  In 1860 Cynthia and Dan'l Richardson were living in Livonia, Livingston Co., NY with John W. Richardson, age 21. Daniel and Cynthia Richardson were living in Blackman Twp., Jackson Co., Michigan, in 1870.  Their son, Daniel L. Richardson and his family were living next door to Daniel & Cynthia in 1870. 

Her father was born in England according to the 1880 census?  Not if her father was John Backus.
