Taken from Simon Kenton's Revolutionary War pension file:
Samuel Newell and Joseph Black were two of the names included.
"Another instance of the ingratitude of Republics, or whether assuming a genuine magnanimity honorable to character of our free institutions and of the people they represent, they will appropriate to him a liberal portion of the waste lands of the country, or such other gratuity as may render the close of his days as happy as his life has been useful?"
Simon Kenton was also known as Simon
Butler.

The family of Simon Kenton thanks all of those that supported in the effort to finally secure Brigadier General Simon Kenton his, well deserved, military pension. Those interested in Kenton's family history are invited to visit the Kenton Kin Associations home page at www.thekentonkin.wordpress.com
Merry Christmas!
Thanks for the comment, Marc!
