Katherine Johnson (1904-1987) was born in Saline County, Illinois. She married James H. Garrett in Craighead County, Arkansas. After their
first daughter was born, the Garrett family moved to Genesee County, Michigan.
Katie moved to Harris County, Texas, with her daughter and son-in-law, about 1951, without her husband. I'm not sure when and where she and James Garrett got divorced. Not really sure when Katie married Garland Daniel, either. There wasn't much time for me to get to know this grandma during her whirlwind visits to Michigan.
