Emma L. Burgess was a long-time employee of Burroughs Adding Machine Company in Detroit. She was pictured in The Burroughs Magazine in about 1913 when she took over the Central Files department. She lived close to the company in the Webster Hall apartments and was apparently a very dedicated employee. In 1934, along with two younger friends from Detroit, she took a round-the-world cruise on the S. S. President Johnson.

I would love to know more about her beyond the 1940 census which appears to show her still employed at BAMCO.
