James A. Fenton's Obituary

From the Flint Journal, Flint, Michigan's newspaper, published in September 1934:


FENTON--James A. Fenton, age 70 years, died Tuesday, September 18, 1934, in Hurley hospital. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, 1934, from Dodds-Dumanois Co. Chapel, Rev. James McGee officiating. Burial in Avondale cemetery. Deceased will be at Dodds-Dumanois Funeral Home. Relatives surviving are, 4 sisters, Mrs. William Colton of Mt. Morris, Michigan; Mrs. George Andrews of Montrose, Michigan, Mrs. Archie Campbell of Vancouver; 2 brothers, Charles Fenton of Whittemore, Michigan, Byron Fenton of Texas.

The Fenton family was living in Mt. Morris, Genesee Co., Michigan, in 1870.

Sabrina Fenton (who died in 1920) was living with her daughter, Alma Colton, and her husband, William Colton, all as boarders, in the 1900 Census. In 1900, James, Alice and their son, Byron, were living in Shiawassee County.

James A. Fenton, son of John & Sabrina, married Alice Stewart on 23 Sept 1889; they had both been previously married once before.
