Miss Etta Isolene DeGroat of Lum, formerly a Lapeer resident, and Francis E. West, instructor at Alma college, will be married at the home of the bride's parents in Lum Wednesday, Aug. 14th. Their many Lapeer friends extend congratulations.
The 1900 Census MI Lapeer County, Arcadia Twp., lists Etta (born March 1878) as the daughter of Henry & Catherine E. DeGroat. Etta is a school teacher. Etta's sisters, Pearl, Lea, and Reba were living in the home. An Aaron DeGroat, b. August 1874, was living next door.
