The Civil War In Knoxville, Tennessee

Driving through Knoxville the other day, we passed the Bleak House which served as Confederate General James Longstreet's Headquarters during the Civil War in November & December of 1863.

Some details of the Knoxville area battles can be found here.

One of the reasons General Longstreet interests me is because Longstreet's wife, Maria, had Michigan roots -- and that's where we were born and raised.
