Wallace J. Smith, Struck by Lightning, LaChoy Foods Executive

The obituary of Wallace J. Smith was next to an obituary of a person for whom I was searching who died 18 June 1937. Turns out that his father, Jasper Smith, was a 21 year old living in the Henry Wolf household in Lapeer County, Michigan, in 1870, which was a bonus for my Lapeer County research. A Jasper Smith married Carrie Sutton in 1873 (IGI source) in Oakland County, Michigan. The 1900 & 1910 census lists Wallace Smith with Jasper & Carrie Smith in Evart, Osceola Co., Michigan. Wallace Smith was born 3 September 1890 according to sources at familysearch.org(census says 1889). He was mentioned in this online article.
