P.S. I tried to leave a comment on your blog, but it didn't work for some reason.
Thank you for posting this. Samuel Praigg was my gr gr gr grandfather.
Lauren,
For some reason Samuel Praigg's life just resonated with me, even though I'm not related to him. He fit in nicely with my Genesee, Lapeer & Oakland counties research.
Do you know where he was buried?
Cathy
My father was the late Nelson Samuel Praigg (1931-2001)--a direct descendant of Samuel Praigg. He remembered Samuel Praigg's son, Nelson Praigg
Hope you enjoyed the blog post.
Through Find A Grave, I now know where Samuel Praigg is buried. He and many of his family are in Elmwood Cemetery in Detroit.

That is great news, Lauren. Thanks for letting me know! Cathy
Hi Cathy... I have one more update on Samuel Praigg. Through the power of Google I found a photo of him that is in a collection at the Detroit Public Library. It was taken the year before he died. The boy in the photo is my grandmother's father. I was thrilled to finally see a photo of this man. Thought I'd share it with you.

Dear Lauren,
What a terrific find! Thank you so much for sharing that with me. I was wondering where the house was and the description of the photo included this: 'Handwritten on back: "On Farnsworth Ave., N.E. corner of John R, 65 Farnsworth... ."'
I live in Samuel Praigg's house in Fenton, Michigan. We found his name on a map from 1873. The current address of the house is 401 E. South Holly. Anyone know any more info on the house?
Joe Haynes, What an interesting connection! I do not have any additional information, though.
