A deed I found at the West Virginia Archives dated 7 October 1839, where Michael, John and William Roark, heirs of William Roark property to David Evans of Muhlenberg Co., Kentucky. John Roark and William Roark were both residents of Muhlenberg County at the time; Michael Roark was living in Gallatin County, Illinois.

Witnesseth that for and for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to them the partys of the first part on hand paid by the said party of the second  tho receipt whereof in hereby acknowledged have bargained granted sold and conveyed, and by these presents do bargain grant sell and convey unto the said party of the second part ___ title claim and interest in and to a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being Monongalia County and State of Virginia, bounded and described as followeth (to wit) situate on Indian creek adjoining lands of Charles Glascock, Soloman Hougue and others it being part of a large tract of land which was granted Frederick Guice and David Scott on the 14th day of November AD 1792 and conveyed by the said Frederick Guice and David Scott...to William Roark and bounded as followeth (to wit) beginning at a white oak corner to James Arnett and running with a line of Soloman Hogue South forty three west one hundred and sixty poles in___ of the ___ and a line of Charles Glasscock thence with Glasscock or B___ North four and one fourth East three hundred eight poles to a white oak thence south twenty eight East to the beginning to have and to hold the above described heretofor parcel of land...all the privileges and apertures thereunto ___wise belonging or appertaining unto the said David Evans his heirs and assigns forever and ...signed Michael Roark, John Roark and Wm Roark Junr.
