...certify that Captain [Antoine] Beaubien's elder brother Bernard Trottier Desaunier Beaubien did serve with distinction as a volunteer during the seige of the Fort of St. John by the said rebels, and was killed on the 19th September 1775 in a sally from our fort, in which the rebels were beaten off, and in which action I was wounded myself. 18th December 1821
