Seventh, my library I give to my grandson Jonathan Kearsley Webster except five (5) volumes of American State Papers published by Duff Green....which I give to my friend D. Bethune Duffield, Esq., of Detroit.
Eighth To my grandson Jonathan Kearsley Webster I give and bequeath my Chinese copy of Stuarts Washington received by me from my uncle William Kirkpatrick who purchased the same from Gilbert Stuart in Philadelphia at a large price and I also give to my said grandson the likeness of my said Uncle William Kirkpatrick...I likewise give and bequeath my cane containing the sword worn by General Washington at Braddocks defeat and by General Washington presented to my Father during the winter campaign at Valley Forge in 1778 at the headquarters of the army my Father then being a captain in the Revolutionary Service and subsequently place the same in a cane with a suitable inscription and presented it to me. To my grandson I commend the precept on the blade and which was as nobly and honorably fulfilled by Washington in his use of it "Draw me not without reason, sheath me not without honor."
Ninth To my son Edmond I give the sword and hanger worn by me during the War of 1812...
Eighteenth...Julia O'Connor my faithful servant girl....
...Executors were directed to pay Mrs. Bingham wife of Edward Bingham of Detroit...designed to include indirectly her husband and daughter...
