From Travels through Canada, and the United States of North America, in the years 1806, 1807, & 1808 (1816):
The British Government seems at present disposed to maintain its possessions in Canada upon a respectable footing. Many new appointments have taken place in that country, particularly in
the military department. Six inspecting field-officers of militia are among the number; but it is not yet known upon what plan the militia is to be organized.
