Includes records documenting Lewis Clement's efforts to recover compensation for the heirs of his grandfather, Lewis Clement (b. 1725) as well as the heirs of his wife's great-grandfather, Adam Crysler (b. 1732). Clement and Crysler both suffered loss of property located near Schoharie, New York resulting from the American Revolutionary War.

The records also include documentation regarding property for Joseph and James Clement (brothers of the younger Lewis Clement) and other relations.

Series includes miscellaneous items such as a letter of recommendation for Lewis Clement's son-in-law Charles P. Camp as well as recipes for wine.
