Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail commemorates the victory of American forces over the British at Kings Mountain, October 7,1780, with the group of Overmountain Men.
The Wilkesboro, North Carolina, area is where I noticed the trail marker sign (above).
Abingdon, Virginia, was an important point on the trail (*to me).
