She [Jane Ingell Richmond Dean] was a descendant of John Richmond, one of the first purchasers of Taunton, of Colonel Sylvester Richmond, who commanded the Sixth Massachusetts regiment in the campaign against Louisburg, and received the French flag after the capture of the fortress, and of Colonel Ezra Richmond, his son, the oldest captain in the British line, who received his commission from King George II. in person in England.
