George MacLean Moir married Mary MacIntyre, daughter of Peter MacIntyre, of Virginia, U.S.A.There was a MacIntyre family in Nansemond County, Virginia (Peter, his wife, Elizabeth, and daughters Elizabeth, Sarah, Mary R., and Margaret), in 1880.
Census 1880

Peter Mcintyre Self M 38 Scotland
Elizabeth Mcintyre Wife F 34 Scotland
Elizabeth Mcintyre Daughter F 7 Scotland
Sarah Mcintyre Daughter F 5 Pennsylvania, United States
Mary R Mcintyre Daughter F 2 Virginia, United States
Margarett Mcintyre Daughter F 0 Virginia, United States
Peter MacIntyre died 6 February 1883.
A Nansemond County, Virginia, Chancery Case, Elizabeth McIntyre vs. Elizabeth McIntyre, Infant, Etc., dealt with Elizabeth McIntyre's (Peter McIntyre's widow) wish to sell property noted in Peter McIntyre's Last Will and Testament which was also part of the inheritance of their minor children (Elizabeth, Sarah, Mary Rosanna and Margaret McIntyre). [Virginia Memory, Library of Virginia] Elizabeth and her late husband were natives of Scotland who hadn't lived in the United States long enough to establish a sufficient support system; therefore, she wished to sell their property near Holy Neck in Nansemond County and move back to Scotland.
Since George MacLean Moir married Mary McIntyre, daughter of Peter McIntyre of Virginia, USA, and lived in Scotland, I believe that Mrs. Elizabeth McIntyre did move back to Scotland with her daughters.
