In the matter of Guardian for Samuel H. Vinson, Priscilla Vinson, Martha A. Vinson, and James F. Vinson, minor heirs of Levi D.Vinson, Dec'd.

Said minors are entitled to pension from the U. States for service of their father against the rebellion and can only obtain it through a guardian...ordered that Lewis E. Painter be appointed guardian....

Levi Vinson was a private in Company G, 7th Regiment of Illinois Volunteers (Cavalry). He died as a POW at Andersonville, Georgia, on 19 August 1864 (or 4 September 1864). He was captured 11 October 1863 at Colliersville, Tennessee.
Elizabeth Coats and Levi Vinson were married on 9 October 1851 in Gallatin County, Illinois.
