Back To Tennessee After The Burr Trial

From the Reminiscences of Colonel Robert Chester:

When I lived in Carthage, General Jackson passed through the town, on the way home from the Burr trial. The tavern where he stayed was at once crowded with people.  He ordered the customary treat all round. A man in the crowd sneered out something about ' your friend Burr.' Jackson's glass was at his lips, but he threw the whiskey into the speaker's eyes. [Source]
