A Rare Broadside

Source
 BROADSIDE

Forty Dollars Reward. Baltimore County, October 5, 1777. Ran away, last night, from the subscriber, an English servant man named Samuel Phillips, a Weaver by trade, about 26 years of age (then follows a description of his last appearance)... . Whoever takes up the said servant, and secures him, so that his master gets him again, shall have Ten Dollars (etc). [Signed] William Goodwin, N.B. As he can write, he may forge a pass.

Very Rare.  Of interest as showing that the old colonial law governing Master and Servant was still in effect.
