The United States Congressional serial set, Volume 1272 included the following, for "Reward For The Capture Of Booth":
"The committee further report that the expedition which resulted in the capture of Booth and Herold was planned and directed by Colonel (now General Lafayette C. Baker), then a detective officer of the War Department, the force consisting of Lieutenant Colonel Everton J. Conger, Lieutenant Luther B. Baker, then in the detective service, Lieutenant Edward P. Doherty, and twenty-six privates of the 16th New York cavalry...".
Abraham Snay, my 2nd great grand uncle, was awarded a share of it [the reward]. He was one of the 26 privates of the 16th New York cavalry.
