The blog Arkansas in the Civil War made a connection between Pea Ridge and Horseshoe Bend.  General Ben McCulloch was commanding a regiment in the Civil War Battle of Pea Ridge.  Ben's father, Alexander McCulloch, was an officer under Andrew Jackson at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend.

The forced evacuation of Native Americans, referred to as the Trail of Tears, traversed through Pea Ridge, Arkansas.
