The Plains Of Abraham, A History of North Elba and Lake Placid included a story about the Jacob Smith Moody family. One member of that family was Cortez (or Cortis) Moody who married Elizabeth Snay.
Note: Elizabeth was the daughter of Peter and Sophia (Swinyer) Snay, and the sister of Abram Snay as well as my great-greatgrandmother, Mary Jane (Snay) Swinyer.
Cortis Moody's first wife, Martha, was born in Virginia, according to the 1860 census. The couple was living in Harrietstown, Franklin County, New York.
