Georgianna Floyd was the daughter of George Rogers Clark and Sarah Tevis (Fontaine) Floyd of Louisville, KY. Georgianna Floyd died very young, possibly from childbirth, and is buried in the Floyd-Breckinridge Cemetery in Louisville with her parents.

George Rogers Clark Floyd was the son of John and Jane (Buchanan) Floyd, and was a veteran of the War of 1812. Legend has it that he was present when Gen. George Rogers Clark's leg was amputated, beating cadence with a drum outside his cabin to distract him. George Rogers Clark Floyd was the brother of Dr. John Floyd, Governor of Virginia. Sarah Tevis Fontaine came from a noted Huguenot family. She was the daughter of Aaron and Barbara (Terrell) Fontaine, and was one of eleven daughters noted for their beauty.
