Manasseh Hickey

Manasseh Hickey was the son of James Hickey who lived in Oakland Co., Michigan.  Manasseh's brother, Lorenzo Dow Hickey, had a descendant who was related to a woman who married a man in my Garrett family.

"Camp Hickey" in Civil War named after Manasseh Hickey (information related in the History of the Twenty-Fourth Michigan):

"Tuesday, October 28, eleven o'clock, found us on the road again, passing by log houses, over South Mountain, via Crampton's Gap, through Birkettsville and Petersville, halting for the day about two miles from Berlin on the Potomac. Our location was called " Camp Hickey," after Reverend Manasseh Hickey of Detroit Conference."

Bio of his son, Preston Manasseh Hickey.

Manasseh Hickey died on January 3, 1903.
