Illinois Pioneer William Roark

From the Illinois Archives:  The "Illinois State Genealogical Society" has a "Prairie Pioneer Certificate" on file for William Roark; the Pioneer Ancestor Application was completed by (Descendant) Karen Elder.  The salient points from William Roark's file:

William Roark settled in Gallatin County, Illinois circa 1810

William Roark and his son Michael Roark [both ancestors of mine, too] purchased land together from the Shawneetown Land Distribution as early as 1810

William made a sworn affidavit while living in Michael's home

In the 1840 United States Census, Gallatin County, Illinois, William Roark is enumerated as a 78 year old military pensioner living with Michael Roark

Elizabeth [Eleanor] Roark [also my ancestor], Michael Roark's daughter, married Felix G. Patillo (Saline County, Illinois, records) Saline County, Illinois records name Elizabeth as Felix Patillo's widow, and William Roark as Elizabeth's brother

Elizabeth (Roark) Patillo's daughter, Nancy Jane Patillo, married James A. Rice
