Private Charles S. Eddy, Co. E, 18th Michigan Volunteer Infantry, arrived at the Jefferson Barracks General Hospital aboard the hospital steamer Baltic on April 23, 1865, from Cahaba, Alabama Prison Camp.

Eddy, Charles S.,Franklin. Enlisted .. in company E, Eighteenth lnfantry, Aug. 2, 1862, at Tecumseh, for 3 years, age 19. Mustered Aug. 26, 1862.. Taken prisoner at Danville, Ky., March 24, 1863. Taken. prisoner at Nashville, Tenn., Aug. 13, 1863. Taken prisoner at Athens, Ala., Sept. 24, 1864. Died of disease at St. Louis, Mo., May 6, 1865.
Pvt. Eddy died May 4, 1865.
