Obituary Of David Welsh

From the Daily News Standard, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, published on May 22, 1900:

David Welsh died at his home on Main Street, New Haven, this morning at 7:30.  He had been ailing for several months, but failed rapidly within the past week.  He was 67 years old.  Deceased until seven years ago was a resident of Connellsville, having moved here from Lehigh valley in 18?(6?)1.  He spent a few years in California at the time of the gold excitement.  Mr. Welsh married Miss Anna G. McFadyen.  No children were born to them.  Deceased built a frame hotel on what is now the site of Boyls, Porter & Co., iron foundry.  This building burned down about 35 years ago.  Mr. Welsh and Ezekial Duckworth built the Baltimore house which stands on the corner of Water and Peach streets.  He will always be remembered for his kindness of heart as he was always ready to give to the needy and relieve the suffering.  Deceased was also a member of King Solomon Lodge F. & A. M. of Connellsville, having joined in 18?8.  The funeral arrangements which will be in charge of the lodge will be made later.
