Alta (Ford) Langworthy's Obituary

Mrs. Alta Langworthy

Funeral services for Mrs. Alta Langworthy, 68, were held at the Stinson funeral chapel Thursday afternoon, December 8, with Elder Schauf of the Cedar Lake Academy officiating.  Mrs. Langworthy died Monday, December 5, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eva Dutcher, 635 Oak street.  She had been in poor health for the past two years.

The deceased was born in Monroe county, Michigan, March 5, 1869, the daughter of Morris and Mercy Ford.  She was united in marriage to Edwin J. Langworthy, of Clare county, October 9, 1887, and settled in Sheridan township where she made her home until 1919 when she moved to Mt. Pleasant where she resided with her daughter.  Her husband died August 13, 1907.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Dutcher, Mrs. Audrey Guest, of Pontiac, and Mrs. Edith Parker, of Lake City, and two sons, Ralph and Lloyd, both  of Mt. Pleasant.  Two children preceded her in death, Edith [Etha], who died at the age of 20, and Carl, at the age of 31.

Burial was made in Cherry Grove cemetery in Clare.
