My research error was discovered while searching for files years ago in the Lapeer Co. Probate office.  A partial list of files "of interest" from Lapeer Co. Probate compiled years ago included those listed below.

I thought for sure that File #735 belonged to "my" James More who died December 1870 in Lapeer Co. It didn't. I was sure that File #1572, Algie G. More, had nothing to do with my family, but looked at it anyway. It did. I thought that Algie's middle name, Gardner, may provide a clue to his ancestry. It did.
