Emma (Palm) Starrett, Charles's widow, was the half-sister of Ernest Palm who was Jim's grandfather.  Emma and Ernest were both children of Gottlieb Palm.  Emma is listed as Emma Norrris/Morris in this 1892 probate document.  It is believed that Charles was Emma Palm's husband, especially with a child named Palm Starrett, but it isn't a certainty that the above is correct.
