This record stated that Abram Snay resided in Saranac and he was born July 9, 1845, at Saranac. He was a "P" (Private) in the 16th Cavalry, Company A. He was paid 300 (three hundred dollars) bounty by the town. He was the single son of Peter and Sophia (Swinyer) Snay and was a farmer.
Under "Promotions, Resignations, Deaths, (Etc.)...," Abram Snay was "The Capture of Booth The Assassin; May 21, 1865, Still in Service."
