According to the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System database, there were 115 Civil War veterans named Daniel Ryan. There were two named Daniel C. Ryan; one was a Confederate private in the 48th Virginia and the other was in Lieut. Flynn's Company Sappers and Mitners, C. S. A.
