Obituary of William M. Crane

Published in the Flint [MI] Journal on April 19, 1948:


CRANE--William M. Crane, 1476 Lavender St., age 52, died April 18, 1948.  Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M., Wednesday, April 21, 1948, from the Rose Chapel, Algoe-Gundry Mortuary, Dr. R. D. Kearns officiating.  Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Linden, Mich.  Body will be at the mortuary.  Death was sudden.  He was born in Linden, Mich., April 9, 1896, the son of Frank D. and Rosemond Crane, and spent his whole life in Genesee County.  Member of the Masonic Lodge of Linden.  Employee of the Consumers Power Co.  Surviving are: wife, Agnes; daughter, Mrs. Joan Palermo of Detroit; son, Robert J. Crane of Flint; brother, John Crane of Bay City; 2 sisters, Mrs. Raymond [Hazel] Smith of Rankin, Mrs. Goldie Brewer of Flint; 2 granddaughters, Judith and Mary Patricia Palermo; several nieces and nephews.

Though the obituary stated that William Crane lived in Genesee County his whole life, it appears as though that William, Agnes, Robert and Joan lived in Washtenaw County, Michigan, when the 1930 census was taken.
