Cusseta, Alabama - A Fort & A Garrett

Fort Cusseta "in Chambers County, Alabama, is a rare surviving example of a log fort built to defend a frontier settlement from Indian attack."



Wikipedia noted that Pat Garrett*, known for shooting Billy The Kid, was born near Cusseta. Here is my earlier post about finding the graves of Pat Garrett's grandparents and realizing that Pat Garrett's grandmother (nee Greer) was my 1st cousin 6X removed.
