JEFFRIES-Jess L. Jeffries, age 69, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 1941, at Hurley hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Monday, December 29, 1941, from G. T. Gray Chapel, Rev. H. W. Colenso officiating. Burial in Flushing, Mich. Remains will be at the funeral home. Surviving are: Wife, Amanda; five sons, John of Flushing, Ora, Marvin, Harlan and George, all of Flint; three daughters, Mrs. Leota Rye of Montrose, Mrs. Daisy Green of Montrose and Mrs. Mildred O'Neil of Flint; 17 grandchildren.

In 1910 the Jeffries family was in Cedar Creek Twp., Wexford Co., Michigan. In 1920 Jess & Amanda (Spohn) Jeffries were living in Genesee Co., Michigan. Jess was a plasterer of houses according to the census.

Jess Jeffries was the grandfather of (Living) Jeffries who married my Dad's cousin (Living) Powers.
