Isabelle Boyd married 2nd Ernest A. Alline on September 21, 1901, in Marion Co., Ohio. Alline is a fairly uncommon name; however, the surname "Allen" will also surface unless an exact search is run.
Thanks to the Family Search, a death certificate for Ernest A. Alline (1860-1943), of Marion Co., Ohio, was found that included his parents' names (Alfred & Ellen (Severance) Alline), their places of birth (Addison Ridge, Maine and Deerfield, Massachusetts) as well as Ernest's place of birth. I still don't know how a man who was born in Waterloo, Iowa, found his way to Marion County, Ohio, but Ernest's family background (Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts) gave me some new places to research.
Some members of the Alline family also lived in Plymouth Co., Iowa. Alfred A. Alline, Ernest's father, was a sergeant in the Civil War and was in the 1st Iowa Cavalry, Company G (Military information on his gravestone here). The 1st IA Cavalry (per this diary) was in Missouri at the Battle of Wilson's Creek (where we visited in October 2009). Ellen Severance, 1st wife of Alfred Alline, was the daughter of Pliny & Sophia (Risley) Severance (her gravestone is here).
Perhaps Alfred A. Alline's father, John, never made it to Iowa, but his mother, Mary (Nash) Alline, was living in Blackhawk County, Iowa, with Alfred and Ellen, as were Mary's daughter Frances and son Frederick (1860 IA census on Footnote). Mary (Nash) Alline, Frederick Alline and Edgar Alline (Edgar was Ernest's brother) were all living back in Addison, Washington Co., Maine, in 1880.
