This Day In History - Sunset Rock

The view from Sunset Rock where Confederate Generals Longstreet* and Bragg reconnoitered before the Battle of Wauhatchie. Because mules allegedly caused the Confederates under Evander Law to mistake the animals for cavalry, "The Charge of the Mule Brigade," a parody of "The Charge of the Light Brigade," was penned.

*See my blog about Longstreet's in-laws in Genesee County, Michigan

Jim's version of the view from Sunset Rock, Lookout Mountain, overlooking Chattanooga, Tennessee.
