My primary research goal at this library was to find a death notice for Jim's aunt, Sarah L. (White) Woodworth at the Springfield-Greene County, Missouri Library. This was almost ridiculously easy. The Local History Department had a death notice indexed for Sara L. Woodworth here. The reference librarian told me that until recently a 91 year old gentleman had cut death notices out of the Springfield News-Leader and compiled them in a series of books housed at the library. So no microfilm or hard copy newspapers to search. The librarian walked me straight back to the proper book, found the date I needed (7 September 2001) and found the death notice which was in alphabetical order.
Now on to Branson tomorrow!
