President Polk Attends Acklin Wedding

According to President James K. Polk's diary, he and Mrs. Polk attended the May 1849 wedding of Mrs. Adelicia Hayes Franklin and Joseph A. S. Acklin in Nashville, Tennessee, shortly after leaving office in March of 1849. President Polk died shortly thereafter on June 15, 1849. See the Wikipedia entry concerning James K. Polk.
