I started to piece together some Knaggs family information, then found this comprehensive KNAGGS FAMILY website. No need for me to reinvent the wheel on this one!

Whittmore, born in Fort Miamis in 1763, married Mary Joseph Descomps dit Labadie in Detroit on June 23, 1797. James was said to have been born in Roche de Bout in 1780. [The John Askin papers, Detroit: Detroit Library Commission, 1928-1931]
