Niagara  April 18th, 1853

This is to certify that I was present on the 25th of November 1786, when the marriage ceremony was performed by Lieut. Col. John Butler, late Butler's Rangers, between the late John Clement, Lieut. late Six Nations Indian Department, and my sister Mary Ball, and that they lived together as man and wife until his death.

Geo. Ball

This is to certify that I am personally acquainted with the above named George Ball who is now in the eighty-ninth year of his age, but of sound mind and memory, that I also know Mary Clement, and that she was the wife of the late John Clement, late of the Indian Department.

William M. Ball, J.P.

See an abstract of the land petition of John Clement here.

I was wondering if my Clement cousins were related to this couple; they were.  [Descendants of Lewis Cobes Clement].
