Old French Songs Of Detroit's Past

From the Windsor, Ontario, Canada, Public Library site, a link to the virtual museum, The Folklore of le Detroit, which included Old French Songs of Le Detroit, with audio files and lyrics.  The collection was introduced with the following: "Since 1988, Marcel Bénéteau has been collecting traditional French folk songs of this area."

One example:  C'EST UN BERGER J'AI LONGTEMPS AIME, sung by a resident of Erie, Michigan, who learned the song from her father.

The library also provided another link with songs in the online exhibit, "Welcome To Windsor: The Survival of a French Culture."
