Many of the issues of The Lake Orion Review newspaper published since 1935 are archived and online at the Orion Township Public Library here. A newer feature that is available is Jim Ingram's "Time Tracs" which is part of the newspaper that is archived separately (see example here).
The library also has issues of Heir-Lines, the North Oakland [Co.] Genealogical Society [Michigan] publication, and the Orion Legacy, which is the newsletter of the Orion Historical Society.
Chances are references to surrounding areas, such as Lapeer, can be found in these publications.
