Gone To Texas...James V.A. Hinds

Per an affadavit signed by James V. A. Hinds on 14 Dec 1859, in Madison Co., Alabama, he enlisted in the struggle for Texas independence, in a company which was raised by Captain Peyton S. Wyatt in Huntsville, AL, in October 1835. He continued said service until March 1836 when he became ill and returned to Alabama. Another recruit is listed here. Bio of Peyton Sterling Wyatt here.
