Close Call At Lochry's Defeat

My 5th-great-grandfather, William Roark, was captured in the military engagement known as Lochry's Defeat. All of the patriots were either killed or captured. Since this incident occurred in August of 1781 and my 4th great-grandfather, Michael Roark, was not born until 1793, the fact that William Roark was captured rather than killed means everything to those of us who are his descendants.

Last week we visited the site of the massacre in Dearborn County, Indiana. A few days earlier we went to Cleves, Ohio (near Cincinnati) where the massacre survivors were held by a contingent of British soldiers and their Indian allies who were enroute to Detroit.
