Hommon--Ivor Jay, 49, a lifelong resident of Hilliards, died Friday evening. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ida Smiley and 1 sister, Mrs. Edgar Davis. Funeral Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home. Burial in Wesley Chapel.

Ivor J. Hommon's death record stated that he was born on 1 March 1887 in Hilliard, Ohio; his father, Frank, was born in Hilliard and his mother, Ida, was born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. He was a signal repairman for the railroad. Ivor was divorced from his wife, Isabelle.

In the 1900 census taken in Franklin Co., Ohio, Ida Hommon (b. Apr 1863) was the widowed head of the household. Living with Ida was her son Ivor (b. March 1887), her father, John Van Schoick (b. Sept 1829) and two boarders, Nina and Sarah Vogelsong. Everyone in the household was born in Ohio.

Ivor Hommon's mother, Ida, married 2nd Charles W. Smiley, who died 7 September 1924 and was buried in Wesley Chapel. Ida Smiley died 2 December 1937 in Franklin Co., Ohio, and was buried in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
